We decided to make a hexangonal part where we could put our pation table, and maybe someday a hot tub!
Buliding the deck
Starting the rock garden around the deck, we went to a local quarry where we got to pick out our own rock for only $40.00...way cheaper than garden blocks!
We used a string line to make sure all the rocks would be semi-even at the top. Landscape fabric was put down and soil placed on top.
Here is the deck all finished, and the garden being bulit
Here we are all planted and mulched, this is year 1.
Patio done, garden done, now some crushed rock for the driveway!
This was the start of last years gardening project. I always have a load of rock and topsoil on hand for summer projects like this!
My little rock garden. The area beside it after lots of loads of crushed rock..
This is on of my favorite spots in the yard. I can have a seat and a beer and enjoy my gardens. Can't wait to get back out there in the spring!
Love your ideas Leah, I had recently re-designed the side of my home aswell. I'm thinking that I might get a blog up....is it very hard to do???

Hi Sue! thanks! the blogging is easy and addictive! I find that I am finding it easier to do through facebook, I guess maybe it depends on what you are used to. Are you on facebook?
ReplyDeleteThe deck looks fantastic! Your landscaping does too. Great job!
